Client Testimonials

“Working with Scott was a pleasure. He took the time to learn our business and worked diligently to provide us with what we needed. Very professional and extremely responsive. Would highly recommend.”

Collin Wright

“Scott worked with me on the design of my website making adjustments to help me realize my vision. He was very responsive to feedback and I love the dynamic result. Thanks, Scott.”

Diane Whitney

“Scott was able to help transform CMT’s website, blending together the artistic vision of the organization and the most current web design. He helped create a new responsive experience for our users that drives ticket sales and donations, in a way that creatively tells CMT’s story and engages with our broad and diverse audience.”

Dana Zell

“Scott started on my brand new apartment locator website the day I gave him a down payment, and took all interior and exterior photography. Scott was efficient, kept me posted and went way overboard on all the design and function details. Rather than creating a boring apt. website Scott made a browsable real estate site with MLS photos, embedded videos, rent, sqft and maps so users can do real research on our site.”

“Working with Scott Lewis was the key step that allowed Didge Project to transition from an outdated website into an attractive WordPress build. Scott went out of his way to research and find the best theme. Scott helped me install all the plug-ins I wanted, and went over and above what I asked of him. I highly recommend working with Scott and hope to have him do more sites for me in the future.”

AJ Block - Musician

“Our Austin public relations firm found Scott on Google while looking for someone that we could form a long term working relationship with. Scott stopped what he was doing and helped us make some important changes to our website. He was extremely responsive and updated everything we had been avoiding for a year. Highly recommended.”

Lindsey Broussard - Leverage PR

“Scott turned our outdated text website into something our Club can really use. We can now showcase our scholarship winners, get RSVPs for events, sell tickets to events online and more. Scott’s always available to make additions or changes quickly. I just send him an email and he updates our website in a matter of hours, couple of days max.”

Highland Lakes Aggies Club - Mike Linam

“Scott took basically nothing but an idea from me and ran with it. He created a unique logo and a classy-looking website that I get compliments on all the time. He’s very easy to work with and can change anything I need immediately. Scott charges very little for website maintenance and often makes minor updates without me even knowing. Highly recommended!”

“Port Aransas Realty recently hired Scott to enhance our SEO and fine-tune our agent blog. We’re now #1 in Google organic for our main keyphrase, ahead of Realtor.com, Zillow and Trulia. Scott met with us at our office with a list of ideas and stayed in constant contact through completion. Scott does exactly what he says he will do with a great attitude. We are very happy with the results.”

Keith Mcmullin Broker, Port Aransas Realty

“I’m not a very creative person. Scott took no creative input to create a beautiful website. Scott built the website quickly and when I need changes made he responds quickly. I’m complimented weekly about the professionalism of the site compared to my competitors. Scott has given me a distinct advantage over my competitors.”

What separates you from other Freelance Web Developers?

Hands-on experience. I’ve had careers in industrial microelectronics, wholesale importing and home accessory manufacturing, the commercial printing industry and more. I was the Real Estate Technology Director at Realty Executives Austin Metro and Realty Executives of South Padre Island for six years as well as a vacation rental business with over 100 properties. Learn more.

I’ve attended the Thunderlizard Productions Web Design World design and development conference in Seattle, 2004 and 2008. Here I learned the process of redesign workflow, web usability, future trends and other very important methods of the industry. I’m always staying on the cutting edge of workflow, web usability and design techniques.

During my real estate career I was a vendor at A Place in the Sun Live second home and resort property trade shows in Manchester, London, Alberta, Monterrey and Houston, Texas. I am familiar with the terminology of your industry and can speak with you in your language.

Are you a freelancer or an expensive design studio?

I’m an experienced freelance WordPress developer and web designer. I can meet with you at your office or anywhere in the Bay Area and surrounding areas. Learn more on my About page. Because I freelance I have no overhead, don’t pay employees or office space rent and can pass these savings on to you. You get hands-on experience and 100% dedication without cutting corners and corporate price-gouging.

I don't even have a logo. Can you create everything from scratch?

Yes. A large percentage of my clients have no logo and no content… just an idea. I can take your idea and create a crystal clear, professional logo and brand for your entire business. I can also write your mission statement and any other content for your website pages, all written succinctly and designed for search engine results.

Does not having a large team mean I will have an unprofessional website?

No. I have over 15 years experience in professional web project management, creating professional website proposals and efficient workflow. I’ve owned a web development S-corp in Seattle with 20 clients during the Internet boom. I have attended two Web Design World development conferences in Seattle focusing on Web Usability, technical procedures and future industry trends.

I have also had full careers in electronics, importing, commercial and residential real estate, the print industry and many other lighter positions, all the while maintaining a clear skill set and keeping up with my resume.

What's your preferred method of communication?

I rely on Email and texts for my main communication. I am always available for Skype video calls (ScottATXGlobal) or an UberConference and can also meet in person in the Bay Area or anywhere in Austin if necessary. Just Email me your photos, Word documents and any content you want on your website and you will receive a confirmation. If you’d like a phone call from me just send an Email to Scott@WebDevSanJose.com with your phone number and a time that’s good for you. We can also schedule a Zoom meeting.

Do you create eCommerce websites so I can sell products online?

Yes. I create professional websites and work with WooCommerce, the most complete and cost-effective shopping cart solution for your business. I can integrate PayPal or your bank merchant accounts. I have experience in WordPress eCommerce development, product photography, warehouse automation, bar coding, product details, product details page SEO and much more.

How long does it take to create a website? How do I get started?

It generally takes about 2-3 weeks or longer to create a complete website, allowing time for error and scheduling conflicts. If you need a website immediately, I can rush your job and have it done much sooner. To get started submit a Project Request with some details about your website or graphic art project. I will reply as soon as possible with valuable input, a detailed proposal and reasonable flat quote with terms.

Can you meet in person if necessary?

Yes. I’m based in San Jose and enjoy meeting clients in person at their office or an interesting cafe of your choice. We can arrange a meeting anywhere in the Bay Area. I’ve been working remotely for over a decade so rarely need to meet in person unless required by the client, but it is always welcomed.

How do I pay you? How much does it take to get started?

Preferred payment method is a Square Invoice sent via Email, able to be paid with a debit or credit card for the down payment or any other payment due. I can also pick up a check or one can be mailed. I require half or one-third down to start depending on the project total. Zelle, Google Pay and Cash App can also be used.

Will you be available for future updates and changes?

Yes. I work remotely and am always at the other end of my Email. I highly value long-term client relationships. My main priority is your business website and an open line of communication.

I want to maintain my own website. Is this possible?

Yes. I can create your new website with WordPress or convert your existing site to a WordPress website. WordPress is simply a visual system that allows the average computer user to be able to make changes, blog posts, update your web pages and more. I can communicate via Email or phone and instruct you how to make basic changes, write blog posts and utilize social media, or anything else you wish to know.
